Why is HD lace so expensive now?!

It’s no secret that HD lace is the most sought after lace material on the market right now. It’s been around for years, initially in the celebrity/film industry because it was used to create hyper realistic wig pieces for plays and movie sets. Because the lace was so delicate, it was expensive so most Asian manufacturers were not working with it until it seemingly blew up around 2018-2019, and then it became extremely hard to find because when COVID-19 hit, North Korea (who was responsible for producing more than 75% of the lace products in the world) closed their borders to China and effectively created a “Lace Shortage’.This made it extremely hard to find HD lace elsewhere, and when they did find it, it was more than 2-3x the original price.
Some companies were barely breaking even, so to cut costs, they provided the great quality HD lace, but it was hand tied with lower quality hair, and they sky rocketed the price because like I said, HD lace is the most sought after lace in the market right now, and now they can turn a decent profit, but then us as retailers have to adjust our prices to cover the increase, and it results in consumers thinking that we’re ripping them off and price gouging, when really, it’s just priced to market value. So strictly speaking for Meraki by J.Unique, please understand that it is never my intention to price gouge or rip people off. I take pride in providing the highest quality lace products and raw hair extensions on the market.
I stand on the quality of my products and I promise to always provide nothing but the best!
